Large monarch cluster in the secondary area, December 2012. Photo by Judy Richards.
In the fall of 2012, the secondary cluster area, not visible from the paved public path, supported more monarchs than we’d seen there since the Trilogy at Monarch Dunes habitat was created in 2006. Two trees, CT-91 and CT-92, supported clusters nightly from November through early January, at which time the monarchs moved to the mother tree in the main cluster arena.
